We understand that dread, so we’ve come up with as many helpful tips and tricks as we can to make the process as straight forward as possible. See below our step-by-step guide and additional information to help with longevity of your graphics.

1. Clean the Surface of your Plastics Thoroughly
The bike’s surface must be clean and dry. Any dirt, oil, or grease can affect the adhesive and cause the graphics to peel or not stick properly. Use a contact cleaner, degreaser or rubbing alcohol to wipe down all areas where the graphics will go.
2. Heat The Graphics Up
Warm the graphics up using a heat gun before applying them. This makes the adhesive more pliable, allowing you to work with the decals more easily. It also helps them conform to curves better and last longer.
3. Start from One Edge of the Graphic
Begin applying the graphic from one side (either the top or bottom) and work your way across. This helps avoid wrinkles and bubbles and ensures a more precise application. Try not to lift the graphic once it’s on—if you need to reposition, use heat to soften the adhesive.
4. Use a Squeegee or Credit Card
Once the graphic is in place, use a squeegee or a flat object (even a credit card will do) to push out any air bubbles. Work from the centre to the edges, making sure the graphic sticks completely.
5. Trim Excess Material
If you have graphics that overlap or go beyond the edges of the panels, use a sharp razor blade to trim off the excess. Be careful not to cut into the plastic of your bike—cut along the edge for the cleanest result.
6. Seal the Edges
To prevent the edges of the graphic from lifting over time, use a heat gun to seal the edges down after applying. This helps the adhesive bond better and keeps the graphic looking fresh.
7. Let it set
After applying the graphics, let the bike sit for a day or so before riding. This allows the adhesive to fully set, ensuring the graphic stays in place during your ride.
8. Take Care in Cold Weather
Applying graphics in cold weather can make the adhesive less effective. If possible, try to apply them in a warm environment or use a heat gun to warm the surface before application.
9. Maintain the Graphics
Once installed, maintain the graphics by washing your bike carefully. Avoid harsh scrubbing or strong chemicals, as these can damage the adhesive and cause the decals to peel prematurely.
